Bisbee is quite the place. The town has been here since 1880, founded as a copper, gold and silver mining town. Now it's pretty much a hippy community, which makes for great people-watching, as you can imagine. As a matter of fact, there are several cars that look like this one:



I only wish I'd been faster with the camera when I saw the one that had owls all over it.


Random fact:

Bisbee is featured in the movie "The 3:10 to Yuma".


The copper pit, which has been opened and closed several times depending on the price of copper, is called the Lavender Pit, and is named after the guy that came up with the plan to turn the previously unprofitable mining operation around, and executed the plan.



Bisbee is about 10 miles from the Mexican border.
